Introduction to the Global Forum on AI Ethics 2024

The 2nd Global Forum on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Ethics 2024, organized by the Government of Slovenia and funded by the European Union, will take place in Slovenia on February 5 and 6, 2024. With the overarching theme, "Changing the AI Governance Landscape," the forum aims to facilitate a robust conversation among world leaders, scholars, academic researchers, and the broader public. The forum will also showcase various initiatives from UNESCO, including the Global AI Ethics Observatory and the UNESCO Global Network of AI Ethics Experts.

Forum Program Content

The two-day program framework includes diverse aspects of AI. On the first day, policymakers, technology industry leaders, researchers, scientific organizations, and non-governmental organizations will delve into the nuances of AI Governance. They will share insights on effectively implementing AI activities at various levels, whether global, regional, or specific to individual countries. Notably, at the Ministerial-level session on the first day, focusing on national governance of AI, "Insights from UNESCO's Readiness Assessment (RAM) and experiences of countries," Mr. Bui The Duy - Deputy Minister of Science and Technology participated as a representative from Vietnam and shared Vietnam's perspective on AI implementation policy and current issues related to AI governance in Vietnam.
